MEETING HELD WITH THE PRESIDENTS OF THE LOCAL COUNCILS OF YOUTH

9TH of March 2017, a meeting with the presidents of the Local Councils of Youth was held in the Agency of youth and sport, within the project “Youth participation in the decision making processes”. The project is implemented by Coalition of youth organizations SEGA in cooperation with Agency for youth and sport, by support of the National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility, through the programme Erasmus+, KA3 (Structured dialogue). The aim of this project is to improve the function of the Councils of youth in the municipalities and to influence the improvement of the youth participation in the democratic life.

On the event, the Executive director of Coalition of youth organizations SEGA – Zoran Ilieski, also the Director of the Agency of youth and sport – Marjan Spaseski and the Director of the National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility – Darko Dimitrov held a speech.

The Director of the Agency for youth and sport informed about the beginning process of creating of the Local Councils of youth initiated by the Agency of youth and sport in the 2015, at the same time he emphasiezed the big importance of the local councils of youth as a link between young people and the local governments, therefore as formal bodies that enable inclusion of young people in the process of decision making and creating policies. In the period of the end of March and the beginning of April 2017 the project envisages realization of 10 local discussions on the subject “Increasing the youth participation through the function of the Councils of youth” in the 10 municipalities included in the project. Through these local discussions opinions will be collected by the young people for youth participation at local and national level and what is the need of improvement of the youth participation through the Councils of youth.

For bigger inclusion of the Councils of youth it is planned the presidents of the Local Councils of youth to be engaged as facilitators of the local discussions in Kavadarci, Shtip, Sveti Nikole, Radovish, Negotino, Krushevo, Gazi Baba, Gjorche Petrov, Prilep and Grad Skopje.

COALITION SEGA WILL IMPLEMENT TRAINING FOR YOUTH INFORMATION WORKERS

Coalition of youth organizations SEGA in partnership with the Regional youth info center in Rijeka and the European Youth Information and Counseling Agency – ERYICA will implement training for youth information workers in the period of 13 – 17 March 2017 in the hotel Ambient, Struga, within the activities of the project "Youth Information Workers fit for Youth".

This training aims to strengthen the capacities of the youth information workers, therefore the same to acquire skills for on-line information for youth, adjusting the information to the needs of young people and provide them with reliable, timely and quality information.

On this training will be shared experiences for the work of the Info Centers in Croatia and ERYICA.

The project is supported by the National Agency for European educational programmes and mobility within the Erasmus+ project, KA2 (Strategic partnership in the field of youth).

Coalition of youth organizations SEGA in the beginning of October 2017 started with the implementation of the project "Youth Information workers fit for Youth (YIW for Youth)" in partnership with the European Youth Information and Counseling Agency (ERYICA) and the Regional Youth Center I Rijeka – UMKI. The project is supported by the National Agency for European Educational programmes and mobility, as part of the programme Erasmus+ KA2 (Strategic partnership in the field of youth).

The project aims at enhancing the quality of Youth Information by developing Guide for youth information workers based on exchange of practices to be applicable by the Youth Information Centers in Europe. In particular the project objectives will reflect to: exchange experiences of innovative tools and techniques for youth information; developing European dimension among countries, in particular on the field of youth; exchanging working methods among organizations; acquisition of new professional skills and competences for youth information workers; promoting transnational learning experiences and proposing best practices in the long term; building a dynamic network among countries and a sustainable partnership.

The project envisages two specific aspects:

1. Preparation of Guide of best practices in the field of youth information work "Information fit to youth", according to structured and detailed need assessment of youth information workers.

2.Training for youth information workers in Macedonia in order to build the capacities of youth information workers.

The project will be implemented in a period of 6 months in Macedonia, Croatia and Luxembourg.
