CALL FOR MMUN 2016 TEAM LEADERS

The Coalition of youth organizations SEGA in cooperation with the Peace Corps volunteers in Macedonia implements the Macedonia Model United Nations (MMUN) programme supported by the US Embassy in Macedonia. The MMUN Programme aims to strengthen the capacities of young people in Macedonia in advocacy, lobbying, diplomacy, conflict resolution, public speaking and writing.

So far four national conferences of the United Nations Model were organized in Macedonia (2012 - 2015) and we are starting with preparations for the next 2016 MMUN Conference. Aiming to increase the participation and representation of the youth organizations of Macedonia in this programme SEGA announces call for team leaders.

Main responsibilities of team leaders include:

  • Participation in Training for team leaders;
  • Establishment of team of 7 – 12 young people that will be actively involved in the programme;
  • Organizing regular meetings with the team;
  • Communication with SEGA and responsible Peace Corps Volunteer;
  • Participation in regional trainings;
  • Preparation of the team for the 2016 MMUN Conference;
  • Active participation in the Conference.

All interested candidates for team leaders should fit the following criteria:

  • Excellent English skills (writing and fluent speaking);
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Responsibility in executing envisaged tasks;
  • Ability to work with team;
  • Leadership skills.

All applicants are required to submit:

  • Motivation (cover) letter;
  • CV; and
  • Support letter of the native organization.

Representatives of member organizations of SEGA as well previous participants in the MMUN 2012, MMUN 2013 MMUN 2014 and MMUN 2015 will have advantage in the selection process.

Selected applicants will participate in Training for team leaders that will be organized in the period of 06 – 08 November 2015.

CHILDREN WEEK IN PRILEP

(Prilep, 06.10.2015). Within the Celebration of Children’s week, today Coalition of youth organizations SEGA organized visit of orthodox religious object under the motto “All children for equal rights! For better future!”. The aim of this visit is young people to meet with the orthodox religion, and to speak with priest for whether the religion support child rights, and have contribution in the creation of the Convention on the rights of the child.

The campaign in Prilep started yesterday with organization of INFO day in the primary school “Kliment Ohridski”, and there will be additional activities by the end of the week that include visit of islam object, visit of the Center for Old people Kiro Krsteski – Platnik. A video “All children with equal rights! For better future!” will be created that will be promoted on Friday, 9th of October in the primary school “Kliment Ohridski”.

Except in Prilep, these local activities, within the campaign “All children with equal rights! For better future!” are organized in five more cities in R. Macedonia – Skopje, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Strumica and Kavadarci, Macedonia Center for Civil Education – Skopje, Majka – Kumanovo, Romany’s resource Center – Skopje and Center for education and development – Tearce.

The campaign was realized within the project “Promotion of Children Rights and intercultural communication” by support of Children Foundation Pestalozzi.

ОДБЕЛЕЖУВАЊЕ НА СВЕТСКАТА НЕДЕЛА НА ДЕТЕТО

Коалиција на младински организации СЕГА во партнерство со Совет за превенција на малолетничка деликвенција-Кавадарци, Македонски центар за граѓанско образование–Скопје, Здружение на граѓани “Мајка”-Куманово, Ромски Ресурсен Центар-Скопје, Центар за едукација и развој-Теарце, а со поддршка на Детската фондација Песталоци, во рамките на проектот “Промоција на детските права и интеркултурна комуникација”, реализираат низа настани за одбележување на Светската недела на детето.

Под мотото “Сите деца со исти права! За подобро утре!”, од понеделник 5ти октомври па се до 11ти октомври ќе се реализираат повеќе локални акции кои се создадени од четириесет и две деца од различни националности од Прилеп, Теарце, Тетово, Скопје, Струмица, Куманово и Кавадарци, кои беа учесници на вториот Летен камп 2015 во Струга, кој исто така се реализираше во рамките на проектот “Промоција на детските права и интеркултурна комуникација”.
