In the period of 13 – 20 March 2013 the Coalition of youth organizations SEGA conducted survey in all 10 municipalities within the City of Skopje, aiming to investigate youth needs and to scan the situation with youth organizing. The analysis of the survey findings should contribute towards creation and implementation of the local youth policies and in that direction to update information for all areas treated with the National Youth Strategy. 591 young people aged 15 – 29 participated in this survey.
This activity have been organized within the project “Creating Local Youth Strategy for the City of Skopje” supported by the City of Skopje and the region of Lower Normandy – France.

The Coalition of youth organizations SEGA organized evaluation meetings with the child ombudsmen and representatives of 10 school organizations from Prilep, Bitola, Ohrid, Struga, Debar, Gostivar, Tetovo, Kumanovo, Kavadarci and Shtip, during March 2013.
The first evaluation meeting aimed to discuss the challenges and advantages of the Child Ombudsman Programme which is being implemented since 2011. The Child Ombudsmen and their deputies exchanged experiences and ideas for their promotion and for strengthening their role in the schools.
The second evaluation meeting was dedicated for the presidents and members of primary school organizations. At the meeting children exchanged experiences about their activities and their organization.
In both meetings was concluded that additional support by the school management is needed in order to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the activities.
During April SEGA will organize evaluation meetings with child ombudsmen and representatives of the school organizations in the high schools from the same cities. These meetings are being organized within the project “Implementation of the Convention on the rights of the child in Macedonia”, supported by the Pestalozzi Children Foundation.

The Coalition of youth organizations SEGA is finishing the implementation of the campaign “Vote! Be Heard!”. INFO Days were organized within this campaign in Kumanovo, Skopje, Ohrid, Kavadarci, Prilep, Tetovo and Shtip. On the 21 and 22 March INFO Days will be organized in Strumica as well. At these events motivation leaflets were disseminated to encourage young voters for the upcoming local elections on the 24 March. Video clip was prepared for the needs of the campaign which is broadcasted on national TV stations: MTV 1 and MTV 2 (national public media services), and ALFA TV. Also, the video clip under the motto: “Vote! Be heard!” is broadcasted by various local TV stations all over Macedonia, such as: TV Nova – Kumanovo, TV Vizija – Prilep, TVM – Ohrid, TV Kiss – Tetovo, TV Vis – Strumica, TV Boem – Kicevo. We expect the campaign have a positive influence on the young voters turnout on the elections.
