“Volunteers Centre Skopje” is a non-governmental youth organization created in 2005 by former EVS volunteers. Our main activities include the promotion of volunteerism, informal education, active citizenship and implementation of the Law on Volunteering in Macedonia. The main goal of Volunteers Centre Skopje is to connect young people without reference to their nationality, religion, political, economical or social status. Our organization also possesses accreditation for sending and receiving of EVS volunteers, with reference number 2009-SI-18 (EVS or European Voluntary Service is part of the Youth in Action program, in the patronage of the European Commission), where so far we have sent over 70 young people as EVS volunteers in EU countries and have been host to more than 150 EVS volunteers from various EU countries, for short or long term.

Volunteers Centre Skopje, also in the last 3 years has received 15 projects from the European Commission: youth exchanges, training courses and seminars, which were directly or indirectly connected with the promotion of volunteerism and informal education, among which for 6 years in a row we organize youth exchanges regarding Vevcani’s carnival with 60 participants from 10 different countries. In the period from February to December 2010, the Volunteers Centre Skopje was the project leader for development of local Youth Strategy for the Municipality of Kisela Voda. This project was funded by the Swiss Agency CIRA and realized in cooperation with the Coalition of youth organizations SEGA and the Agency for Youth and Sports of the Republic of Macedonia.
