The Coalition of youth organizations SEGA as member organization of the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA) – France will be part of the Traveling seminar in organization of Country Vichy – Auvergne – France as a part of the multilateral cooperation between France and the Balkan region on the topic: “Traveling seminar in the footsteps of Albert Londres in the Balkans” in the period of 06 – 25 August 2012 with complete support by the European Union, Council of Europe and UNESCO.
The seminar will be implemented in the cities of the Western Balkan such as Subotica, Osijek, Tuzla, Sarajevo, Mostar, Nikshikj, Shkoder, Skopje, Nish etc.
This project aims to replicate the experiences of Albert Londres (1884 – 1932), native of Vichy, father of modern journalism and the general report, during his many trips to the Balkans to stimulate in young people a taste of adventure, curiosity and openness to other cultures.
This programme will enable the local authorities, citizen associations and young people from different countries (France, Balkan countries and SEE countries) to gain, exchange and build common projects. The programme will represent cultural dialogue, logic of peace and promotion of Balkan integrations in EU.
In this traveling seminar 40 young people from France and the Balkans will have opportunity to participate. From Macedonia 3 applicants will be chosen.
The terms that applicants should fulfill are the following:
- Age 18 – 30
- Excellent English or French language skills
- To have affinity towards journalism (members of school journalist clubs, journalism students, young people experienced in media)
- Young people editing magazines or active in local TV
- Youth active in youth organizations
Selected participants have to cover part of the costs (for accommodation, transport etc.) in amount of 200€ e.g. 20% of the total costs. Rest of the costs will be covered by the organizer of this traveling seminar.
Those chosen to participate in this seminar will have opportunity to act as ambassadors of their country and will have possibility to create exchange network with the youth from different countries involved with the project.
